The International Republican Institute (IRI) conducted a pilot study of women’s political leadership in Africa using quantitative data related to women’s role in national government. The resulting Index provides a snapshot of women’s representation and leadership in the legislative and executive levels across 29 countries and their influence based on four key indicators.
